OUR STORY

The Odio Mimonet woman is graceful and elegant yet tough with a tireless work ethic – as personified by the Nigerian woman. Odio tries to capture that essence and infuse it into her designs.

Odio Mimonet has been producing couture for a discerning clientele for almost 20 years. The tradition of creating exclusive, custom-fitted clothing is an integral part of the brand.

Each piece is lovingly crafted using the best quality fabric and materials and extreme attention is paid to every detail right from the design stage through to the hand finishing.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Odio Oseni is the creative director and visionary behind Odio Mimonet.
A graduate of Yaba College of Technology and the London College of Fashion, Odio has long been admired for her inventive use of Ankara and vibrant prints. She is also recognized as a pioneer of the modern agbada style in Nigeria, reinterpreting the traditionally male garment for women and inspiring a cultural shift that redefined power dressing in the Nigerian fashion landscape.

Her innovative spirit earned her the AMFW Innovative Designer of the Year Award in 2012, cementing her role as one of the leading forces in contemporary African fashion.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, alongside her twin sister, Odio grew up in a large, close knit family. Away from the studio, she cherishes time with her loved ones, exploring new places, and drawing inspiration from her travels.

Through her artistry, Odio continues to shape the language of African fashion, championing heritage, redefining femininity, and creating pieces that make women feel powerful, timeless, and beautifully themselves.

Purpose

Odio Mimonet believes in giving back to the Community and this is achieved through Mimonet Threads. We recognize that fashion can be a powerful tool for personal growth and community building. Our goal is to provide skills training to groups of 50 to 100 young people per cohort in communities, over a three-month period.

Quality first

  • Student learn valuable life skills, including design thinking, creative expression, sketching, pattern making, pattern cutting, sewing and more.
  • Our curriculum is taught by industry professionals, led by award-winning Odio Mimonet’s Creative Director, Mrs Odio Oseni.
  • The classes are beyond theory and include practical approaches, experiential learning and testing to confirm understanding.

Community-Building

  • With the skills that youth engaged in the program learn, they can contribute effectively to society through skilled work programs or by starting their own fashion design businesses.
  • This increases the skills levels, quality of output and contributions by youth in communities where the program runs.
  • Consequently, the program contributes to financial upliftment and income generation for the youth.
